The inevitable late post

As the title describes, this blog post is quite late. Oops. It does mean the next one will arrive sooner though if you think about it.

I’ve been quite busy with work and a result my battery for things has been quite low. However, part of this battery drain is because I’ve successfully spent 3 weeks at the Barras market in Glasgow’s east end at the weekend! At the moment I’ve only been able to do one day per weekend in order to work around my job but each week has been better than the last which is looking very promising.

My mission at the moment has been trying to make sure I have enough things to sell and also how to make my market stall look more appealing and draw people in. It would seem that glittery tinsel curtains, while very pretty and sparkly, are too fragile to put up and take down constantly so trying to find something more robust is in order. I’m also still trying to source a good quality banner.

In terms of new products, I’m currently working on a What We Do In The Shadows sticker set and hoping to make more spooky-esque things for Halloween season! I will probably keep one design as a permanent part of my stock afterwards, but what that will be I do not know yet. I’m also thinking of replacing my sewing machine with one that actually works properly so that I can make things like printed patches, and maybe even upcycle some things so I can make one-of-a-kind pieces. I have so many ideas for things that it is going to take time for me to physically render them.

Lastly, I’ve managed to get hold of a new rig for my phone so I can FINALLY film some content properly for social media. My little tripod has been useful to an extent, but having and overhead arm with a light attachment is probably going to be more efficient in order to show you all my process in making things like earrings and pins.

In my personal life things have been going quite well! We are going to paint the walls in our bathroom to jazz it up a bit (luckily our letting agents are quite reasonable when it comes to decorating) and I am trying my hardest not to buy every autumnal item that is for sale in the shops right now; I love to be cosy and I love soft furnishings, and soon I will be making all the soup too. I did buy a cute cat cushion for the living room though (pictured below). I’ve also been getting to the bottom of some health stuff that I have suspected for a while now, and my doctor thinks it is quite likely I have PCOS. It feels good to be validated in my thoughts and now I can take steps towards helping my body with the things it needs help with.

That’s all for this week, see you next time!
